Hello, my favorite people! I hope those of you in the US and in the UK enjoyed the 3 day weekend! I spent it working on my latest witch which I have yet to unveil.... my Australian witch. (Still have about another week to go on her... I'm working slowly as I'm working with an injured arm!)
Anyway, updates...
Thank you to all those who purchased Hortense over the weekend and today. I am so glad that you did.
If any of you are considering getting her, let me point out that there are some left with the amazing $50 off deal.... so now's a great time to grab her - here.
To those of you that have written to me and said you're holding out for a different witch... first, thank you so much for your interest in my work. Secondly, I just want to add something here... to all of you really... without your support in making this Hortense run a success, there wont be anymore witches. And that would be such a sad thing. I am planning to release every single one of my witches as (very) affordable resin figurines, and I am already starting to embark on work for the second to be released (Olga - the Russian witch). But if this Hortense run doesn't happen, then I'll have to abort my plans to release my collection of witches.
If you love my witches but don't fancy buying a figurine / can't afford to buy, then thank you for taking this moment to show your support by sharing my work with someone who might like to purchase one. You can share my work via this blog, or better yet - via my Facebook Page, or my Instagram, or just by directly pasting this webshop link (https://www.tall-tales.com/hortense) in an email to someone who might like her!
Thank you for supporting what I do. I know some of you have followed this project for years, and with your support I can create the line of Collectible Resin Witch Figurines, and I can put out the books I am already working on and keen to put out. It's all of you who support my work (by either sharing my links or buying my work) that allows me to do what I do.
I leave you with some fun witch photos - a collection of them all huddled together, Olga (because she is the next one I will release this year - if Hortense is a success), and finally photos of Hortense who is available for purchase here now!
Also, a little moving glimpse of Hortense in this video I made below.

I mentioned I'd have a table at Monsterpalooza (the place to "celebrate the art of monsters and movie magic ...with over 250 vendors, a monster museum, special guests, makeup demos, presentations and more..." ) in previous post here...
Boy, was it fun! Easily one of the most fun weekends I have spent in my 7 years living in the United States.
I didn't take enough photos as I was mostly glued to my table, but I've included some below. I'll pop a video with footage from the event on the Tall Tales YouTube Channel soon.
Anyway, what a blast! Elvira was there as her stunning natural redhead self (did I mention to you before that if you're a fan you should get the definitive book of hers here?)... also present was the gorgeous heartthrob David Naughton ('An American Werewolf in London'), Rick Baker, countless amazing artists and people attending in some seriously cool costumes. Scroll to the end of my photos for some shout outs!
Now, most importantly, get the first look below at my first resin collectible - Hortense, the French witch.
She will be available for pre-sales verrrrry soon (I'll announce the date via the newsletter here) with a PROMO DISCOUNT CODE for the very first early birds....!
Artisan hand-sculpted (by me, of course), cast by the very talented Michael Allen and then hand-painted. She'll come on a special artist base (which I am still having made). This is a Limited edition collectible for the Good Witches Bad Witches™ series. Naturally she comes complete with her fabulous mink shawl, her French poodle and shopping cart and her monster handbag.
Don't forget to sign up for the Tall Tales newsletter so you don't miss the discount at the launch.
Enjoy the photos of Monsterpalooza below! Click on an image to enlarge.

And now, shout outs...
If you read this blog you're likely a fellow artist / sculptor? Then you need tools from Jane's Tools. THE best supplier I've known in all my years in the business. Here's a snapshot of some of the wonderful tools I just bought from this fantastic Texas based company. Please find their website here and go crazy - their prices are super reasonable.
An artist I was super excited to meet there (his table was directly behind mine and he was a very cool guy)... check out Dug Stanat...
Couldn't get a photo of his work myself, so this is pulled off his website, but you have to discover the weird and wonderful world of Turkey Merck! How cool are his mugs?! You must have at least 1 friend who has needed one all their life. Plus - totally cool guy.
Gosh, I know there were other artists and vendors I wanted to share with you but since I just moved house their business cards could be anywhere! So will update that as soon as I can.

Current politics mean that many of you are choosing to delete your Facebook accounts. I've actually lost 40 fans / followers of my Tall Tales Facebook page since the Cambridge Analytica story broke and #deletefacebook started trending.
But wait... you'll miss things!
What politics? What's going on?
First of all, Tall Tales takes no political stance and is nonpartisan, but the issue at hand is that a data firm allegedly sold peoples' personal Facebook data to a political organization (story here) and so many Facebook users are now deleting their accounts in protest.
Why does this affect me and also you?!
I love to be able to keep you informed and share my news with you all (anyone interested in Tall Tales happenings) and Facebook has been a great way for me to connect with you.
So, I ask that if you're planning to delete your Facebook account then please be sure to sign up for Tall Tales news via the Newsletter! You can do it in a few clicks here, and then you won't miss stories, promotions and news. Another way to stay connected if you're leaving Facebook is to follow this blog or follow on Instagram.
So, what's the latest Tall Tales news?!
Oh, I'm so glad you asked! I recently finished sculpting Hortense based on the original prototype you liked (here) and she was sent off on her journey towards becoming a resin figurine so that you can all own her, and at an affordable price.
If you're interested in purchasing Hortense - the French witch, as a hand-painted 1:12 scale collectible figurine, then do sign up for the newsletter to be notified when she becomes available for pre-sales. Absolutely no obligation to buy if you sign up for the newsletter. :)
A huge thank you to every one of the 782 of you who took the time to vote in my poll. Your opinions are important to me. To everyone else (those who may have missed the poll, which was blogged about here) I had some exciting shop news. The news was that Tall Tales will, at long last be issuing affordable collectible figurines of my Good Witches Bad Witches™ characters. Keen to give you your favourite character first, I asked which one that was and it was Hortense, the French witch who won by 25.6% of the vote.
I will be re-sculpting Hortense these coming weeks and from there she will be cast and then created as a very limited edition run of figurines. Each one will be hand painted, signed by myself and come from me to you, shipping all over the world.
Thanks again to those who participated in the vote and apologies to those who may have missed it. Rest assured that I will eventually be making every single character available, though in limited numbers so make sure you pre-order one if it's one you love.
Hope everyone's new year is getting off on excellent footing!
If you're a fan of my witches, you have a chance to be involved in something - and it will only take a few seconds of your time! Choose a witch! No obligation to purchase.
Since I am so often asked if I sell my witches, I am finally producing Limited Edition Maquettes (figurines) of some of my witches of Good Witches Bad Witches™ so that you can collect and own them at an affordable price.
I'd love to hear from you - which witch do you want me to create first?! I have created a poll (link below) so that you can click the one you'd personally like to have the opportunity to buy first. As stated, no obligation to buy at all.
Click over and do the poll. It's just one question - which would you want available for purchase?
Some of my classic witches you've come to know and love will be re-sculpted by myself and issued as resin maquettes (this means my witch sculptures will be cast into molds, created in resin and then beautifully hand-painted). Each will be a Limited Edition piece and available to purchase through my webshop here. Final witch will be chosen from the top three answers. Poll closes at midnight PST on Sunday Jan 7th 2018. No obligation to purchase.
Here are the choices! See more photos of these characters at my website here, if you like.
